A weekend about God’s mission for my money
1. Highlight from the weekend
A highlight for me from the weekend was when Pastor John spoke about God redeeming all my empty hours. Where the world system had me toiling at school, working hard and giving my all to be able just to make what the world calls success, God is now supernaturally redeeming all of that time because I obey Him and I have made the decision to follow Him with my all.
Just like Jesus resurrected the widow’s son in Luke 7, there is nothing dead in my life that He can’t and won’t resurrect in my life at this time. I just believe Him and trust Him to do it and I don’t have to try and reason it out with my mind.
2. How my mindset about money has changed
This weekend was really good to just realign and readjust my mindset about money.
Firstly, I must have the recognition that God is my source. When I have this recognition, then I realise that all of my money is from God and so my trust is in Him for finances and not the system of the world. I also then have honour when I give the first fruits and tithes of my honour because I recognise that I am giving God only a portion of what He has given me, showing my trust in Him. This means that tithing is not a law, but it is a way to honour God and reveal that my heart trusts in Him. Furthermore, as I have the recognition that God is my source and that He is the One who has given me finances, I have the recognition that He gave me money with an intention and a purpose in mind. God reveals His purpose for my money to my pastor because the purpose of my money is to build up the Ecclesia. This means that when I am in church and I get the vision from my pastor of what to do with my money and I respond with obedience, my money then has a mission. As I obey God with my money, then He can entrust me to be a steward for more money, so I have increase and more blessing comes to me. This is a cycle that just continues because I use my money with the recognition that God is my Source and I am relational with God in how I use my money.
