The Laban Syndrome, authored by Pastor John Bendixen, uncovers the subtle ways of the world system that tries to take control over people’s lives, thereby hindering them from reaching their full potential as a spirit being in Christ. The book discuses what the Laban syndrome is, how it works through the choices and personalities of men on the earth, and then how to break free from Laban’s grasp.
The book has ministered to me in knowing that I can only be fully free from the Laban syndrome when I fully put my trust in God and the blessings that He has prepared for me, rather than trusting a luring system.
I was again reminded in reading the book that for me to experience victory, I need to get in my mouth and speak my covenant with God, which are all of the blessings that He has given me. I can only walk victoriously in this life when I transition from walking as a natural, three-dimensional being, to living as a powerful, son of God, spirit being.
This is a choice. Being free from Laban and the system of the world, and being free from operating as a Laban is a choice that only I can make, and I can only make it when I am planted in my local church, receiving the words brought to me by a messenger. It is through these words that I transition into living spiritually, and it is through my inheritance of my spiritual father that I can access the full blessings of God in my life.
Who you connect with and who you submit to determines your constellation ~ Pastor John Bendixen
I have recognised the Laban syndrome at work in the school system that always demands a performance and more from you. I allowed that performance-based system to impact my thinking and the way that I related to people.
As soon as your question becomes, “What can you do to further me in life?” you can know that Laban is at work in you. The Lord had to redeem me from judging the potential of relationship with people based on how they could help me reach my goals, to asking the Lord, “Who are the divine alignments that You have for my life that will give glory to You?”
