One of the highlights for me was one of the evenings in Manyeleti while we were making dinner. We just had a marvellous session with Pastor John in the hangar, where I had a big rock moment. Simon, Tarry and Matt then jumped onto a dinner plan and I helped them. We were making steak pasta with pasta sauce, potbrood and stokbrood as a dessert.
It was such a special moment for me when I was frying steak pieces on a skottel and when Matt taught me how to make a creamy, tomato pasta sauce in a pot oven the gas bottle. This was the scenario in which I found myself: I was wearing vellies, khaki shorts and a puffer while shining my headtorch over frying steak and a cooking pasta source in the evening in a camp where there were free-roaming hyenas and baboons and an ineffective fence between us and big-5 territory.
This was for sure a highlight because I could clearly see the identity change from a schoolgirl to someone loving God and adventuring in faith with Blood bought family!
